Hallowindow

Hallowindow is one my favorite decorations. They're a series of animations that you can project in your window or onto a garage door or whatever. You can buy them on DVD or as a download. Hallowindow IV just came out.

Pumpkin Carving

Ray Villafane carves the absolute coolest pumpkins I've seen. He's a toy sculptor by trade so he's got the skill for it. He's got a tutorial on his website that's sure to give you some tips for your pumpkin this year.

Target

Target has their Halloween stuff in stores and as always they've got some new great items this year. There seems to be some nice stuff in the stores that's not available online. One of the coolest items is the bubble fogger. I don't if it actually works well but it's a really cool concept.

Update. I found video of the bubble fogger. Looks like it works well enough. Though even the "big" bubbles aren't that big.

Pottery Barn

I like the stylish items at Pottery Barn this year. Though it's a bit overpriced.

Goblin Lights

I like this simple creative idea for Goblin Lights from Halloween Online Magazine. Though moonlight and street lamps will kill the effect.

Screen Savers & Wallpaper

Hershey's has some Halloween stuff for your computer. The screen savers are kinda lame but I did like the tiled cats wallpaper.

Page Punch

For all you crafty people out there these Around the Page Punches are pretty nifty. I found them through Paper Crave, a blog about the artsy side of paper. Check out the video for how they work and other cool punches.

Canned Monstrosities

One of the things I really like about Halloween is the do it yourself aspect. This site has a fun project of making creepy specimens in a jar. I like the fun he has with describing the labeling.

"The label is extremely important! The label will be looked at and read by everyone who examines your jar. It not only sets the "mood" but it should hint at a story behind the contents of the bottle. Use words that reflect the how, why, and when of the specimen. In the case of this test subject the text reflects the impersonal and scientific process poor #13 was subjected to. It also hints at more - where are subjects 1 through 12? Were there any after 13? Also, #13's sad fate is alluded to with "Survived 8 minutes 9 seconds." And where is his skin?"

Check it out.

Welcome to The Halloween Kid

Halloween is my favorite holiday. So I'm going to make this blog a place to share all the related stuff about it that I like. To start off I took the name of the blog from from a kid's book by Rhode Montijo. I love the art in it. You can get it at Amazon.
